DIRT 3, softTH & X-sim

Here i´m going to post how to config Codemasters´ new title to work with softTH and X-sim. En Español mas abajo.

First of all i have a bad new. it isn´t posible to play Dirt 3 with softTH in XP at the moment. I will keep researching.

This setup is to use with Windows 7 and softTH 2.05. First of all, you have to open the "hardware_settings_config.xml" file that is found in your windows user documents folder and set forcedx9 to true.

After that copy the softTH 2.05 file in the Dirt 3 folder and run the game. The automatic setting file will be created. You might see that the game is streched, so you must exit the game and edit "hardware_settings_options.xml" that is found in Dirt3/system folder. There you must add some lines in the category name="aspect" section:

These lines are for a 5760x1080 resolution and were created by Elite for the softTh forums.

After that game will look O.K.!!. So lets go with X-sim for motion and displays.

To enable this feature you must open "hardware_settings_config.xml" again and edit the lines of motion enabled like this:

Then you can use X-sim Dirt2 plugin.

Ahora lo pongo en Español. Las imágenes son las mismas.

Lo primero es decir que solo funciona de momento con Windows 7 y softTh 2.05, de momento con XP no hay forma.

Lo primero que hay que hacer es abrir el archivo "hardware_settings_config.xml" qye esta en la carpeta "Documentos/My games" aqui cambiar forcedx9 a "true".

Despues hay que copiar el archivo del softTH 2.05 en el directorio del Dirt3 y ejecutar el juego. Se generará el archivo de configuración y se iniciará el juego. Se verá achatado, por lo que hay que salir del juego para editar el archivo "hardware_settings_options.xml" que esta en Dirt3/system. Hay que editar los valores como en la segunda foto.

Esta configuración es para una resolución de 5760x1080 y fue creada por Elite para los foros de softTH.

Ahora vamos a configurar el juego para X-sim.

Tenemos que abrir el archivo "hardware_settings_config.xml" de nuevo y editar las linea como en la tercera foto.

Y listo para dar caña!
